In the last 6 months of 2009 there have been 10 escapes from Arizona State Prison Complex Eyman SUPER MAX unit cells. An extremely dangerous convict in super max tunneled his way into a plumbing chase and an unlocked security door allowed the inmate to escape into the pod where officers work. In a second major security flaw at Eyman's super max a dangerous convict slid through an unlocked security device (food trap) and broke an additional 8 convicts out of their cells. The inmates caused thousands of dollars in damage in the pod and were brought under control by numerous armed (guns) correctional officers. An aging infrastructure and high turnover rate of staff is blamed for the 10 escapes. No convicts have ever escaped the grounds of Arizona's 2 super max prisons which house death row inmates and criminally insane inmates. Hundreds of officers have been injured and tens of thousands of officers have been exposed to deadly airborne, surface and the HIV or Hepatitis diseases.
Arizona Legislators seeking political campaign contributions from private prisons have recently tried to sell the prisons including selling death row. AZCOPS Chuck Foy recently claimed the private prisons are unsafe and safe havens for organized crime "behind bars." Florence Arizona police detectives claim there have been no investigations of any kind in over 6 years at CCA Corrections Corporation America Florence. CCA Eloy AZ recently fired a Deputy Warden after drugs were found in his car. Former Florence Arizona police chief and mayor of Florence Tom Rankin quit work for CCA Florence claiming gross human neglect after being assigned an eight hour shift, outdoor post (guard shack) without electricity or heat on graveyard shift in freezing cold winter temperatures. Staff assaults and escapes had plagued the CCA Florence prison until recent years in which serious efforts to clean up their image by hiring allot of the 40,000 staff that have quit or been wrongfully terminated from the Arizona Department of Corrections. Chuck Foy claims 3,500 state correctional officers belong to AZCOPS affiliate AZCPOA Arizona Correctional Peace Officer Association. Legislators trying to balance a huge state budget told AZCPOA representatives the state correctional officers are not organized and have no political clout in Arizona.

One of AZCOPS affiliate AZCPOA top state correctional officer reps was fired after having sex with a female inmate at Perryville Prison in Goodyear Arizona. DOC Internal Affairs investigators have filled felony charges against the former correctional officer and it's still undetermined if the officer has contracted an STD that the inmate was known to have had at the time. ADOC Internal Investigation unit which handles "criminal investigations" within the department of corrections have been interviewing other staff members at the Perryville Prison.
The AZCOPS rep has been entering the prison one hour before his shift to carry on the relationship with the female convict. I&I investigators think the AZCOPS rep may have already had an STD before the affair with the female convict began. Correctional officers at Perryville claim the AZCOPS rep was using his position and title with AZCPOA to intimidate and threaten staff so the affair could blossom. Officers also claim the AZCOPS rep was threatening to help with the sell of the state prisons to intimidate officers to stay clear of his activity with the convict. A Correctional Sergeant had recently resigned from Perryville Prison claiming he had fallen in love with an female convict.
Perryville Prison has been in the media spotlight lately after two officer suicides and the criminal neglect and death of an female convict placed in an outside holding cell and forgotten about until found non-responsive 4 hours later. The female convict suffered third and fourth degree burns on her face from 120 degree Sonora Desert temperatures and had urinated and defecated in her orange prison jumpsuit. The female convict died after acting director Chuck Ryan "Vader" yanked her off life support at the hospital. Ryan was a private prison consultant at the Iraq prison Abu Ghraib during gross neglect and torture of inmates by USA military personnel.
Perryville Prison TSU Tactical Support Unit officers were also investigate for the death of a department K-9 officer that died in his outdoor cage shortly after a training exercise.

For nearly a decade now AZCPOA an affiliate of AZSLOBS has been trying to intimidate the officers and staff at the Arizona state prisons. AZCPOA recently was instrumental in exacerbating the sell of the prisons to private companies by putting the prisons for sale on highway billboards. AZCPOA reps and members have been trying to strong arm officers into joining the unions. Union reps have told officers they will not watch their back if the do not join their union.
In 2009 AZCPOA and a Buckeye Arizona reserve police officer used a spin-off of this newsletter to harass female staff, intimidate female supervisors, threaten staff and officers and harass the widow of fallen officer Brent W Lumley. B Lumley was murdered at Perryville Prison while working overtime.
AZCOPS head honcho Chuck Foy told officers he don't give a shit about any officer that is not a member of AZCOPS. Foy told the webmaster of this site he would come after him with "both barrels blazing" if he tried to discredit AZSLOBS. Chuck Foy flat out lied about CCA Florence being a safe haven for organized crime. Florence Arizona police detectives defended CCA stating that they have not had an investigation at CCA Florence in over 6 years.
A top AZCPOA representative was recently fired from Perryville Prison for an STD love affair he was having with a female convict. The AZCPOA Rep was using his official position with the union to help nourish the love affair at the prison. Idiot supervisors were also scammed by the rep when he was entering the prisons high security COMPLEX SECURITY UNIT everyday sometimes over an hour before his shift started. Perryville Prison's Complex Security Unit is the prisons onsite police force and is responsible for the prisons death row unit, armory and wardens office.
AZCPOA has had numerous complaints and problems ranging from missing union money by reps and presidents to flat out lies and halftruths being spread to staff to perpetrate disorder at all the states prisons. A large number of AZCPOA top reps jumped shift when the union started going south and took over 500 AZCPOA members with them to the Arizona Correctional Association. Perryville Prison San Carlos unit is open for business. This multi million dollar cash cow is one of two new units to open January 2010 ahead of schedule. Convicts living in giant dorms is one of the most unsafe practices by states trying to cut costs by cutting security costs. 400 to 500 convicts in one room has a tremendous amount of staff safety problems. Darla Elliot warden of Kingman prison is opening yet another multi million dollar prison unit near Kingman Arizona on Interstate 40. The new new $200 million minimum-security prison complex is opening in January of 2010. “It will be the sixth largest (prison) in the state,” said Darla Elliot, senior warden of Arizona State Prison-Kingman. The project is scheduled for completion Jan. 10, 2010, and prison officials are hopeful they will begin moving inmates inside Jan. 11. The new complex is situated southeast of the existing 1,508-bed facility. Upon completion of the project, the facility as a whole is located approximately 22 miles west of Kingman on Interstate 40 near Golden Valley.
The new complex will have the capacity to house 2,000 more adult male inmates. It consists of one administrative building, one support building, 10 dormitories, four program buildings, one 80-cell detention building, a medical building, a warehouse building and a sally port to accommodate vehicles and visitors entering and exiting the prison.
Including both existing and newly constructed buildings, Arizona State Prison–Kingman will have 34 buildings, 759,735 square feet, and 3,508 beds on a combined 90 acres of land. Prisoners will be able to utilize isometric training stations, basketball courts, volleyball courts, horseshoe pits and softball fields among other amenities while incarcerated at the prison. “This will be the largest yard at any Arizona state prison
The new complex will generate 359 jobs to the area including positions related to administration, security, program facilitators, health services, food services and maintenance, according to prison officials. In addition, prison officials project payroll to jump from the current 7.6 million yearly to 19 million.
There are currently 16 state prison complexes in Arizona, six are privately owned and under contract with Arizona Department of Corrections and 10 are state-owned and operated, according to ADC’s Web site. Three additional provisional contracts are in play with out-of-state prisons to accommodate overcrowding, the Web site said.
With a 1-to-100 ratio of security officers to inmates, the warden’s focus is primarily on rehabilitation. The rehabilitation efforts begin with open security stations, free of glass or fencing, within the dormitories and a unique unit management strategy that requires security personnel to circulate among the prisoners.
“It is in line with the philosophy of responsibility, it has to start somewhere,” Warden Elliot said of the unit management strategy. Allowing the open stations and shoulder-to-shoulder supervision promotes inmates to be trustworthy and to be accountable. Since incorporated, the unit management strategy efforts have decreased discipline measures and increased program participation, Elliot said.

"It's enough to make you wanna PUKE, says one retired officer. The people of the tristate area don't have a clue about the mismanaged corruption and union intimidation at the other state prisons. Darla Elliot has been in the good old boy network for decades. Officers have seen over 40,000 officers and staff quit or get wrongfully terminated by Arizona's most corrupt and unfair state employer the Arizona Department of Corrections. It's more dorm living which officers and convicts fear most with little or no control by staff. How in the hell can you present the concept of safety and security when your shoulder to shoulder supervising 300 to 2,000 convicts at one time, by yourself said former officer's and staff. It's a nightmare looking for a place to happen.
Elliot became the brunt of officer jokes when she supervised Perryville Prison. Officers discovered a cache of convict weapons in a unit "shake down." Darla "Pandora" Elliot told staff and officers those are female shanks and far less dangerous than the male shanks. A few months later an officer called 911 and reported he was locked in the Perryville Prison by supervisors that would not allow him to exit after his shift was complete claiming staff shortages.
Officers and staff complained about the new unit from day one claiming it was named after a Mexican Nationalist Juan San Carlos that fought against the patriots at the Alamo in Texas. Officers claim the name Daniel Boone and others should have been picked for the units name. It's also suspected that Juan San Carlos was one of the first Mexican Nationalist to enter the USA illegally looking for work after the USA & Mexican war Between 1846 and 1848 had ended.

The state of Arizona sentenced a prostitute to 24 months in prison time to be served on DEATH ROW. She died of massive heat related problems after her prison Dr ordered her to placed in an outdoor holding cage in 120 degree heat in the Sonora Desert. She was found 4 hours later with a core temperature of 110 and had urinated and defecated in her orange jumpsuit. Powell had third and fourth degree burns on her face and died of extreme dehydration.

The Arizona Department of Corrections went out of their way to degenerate Powell with an old photograph. Powell had spent numerous painful hours getting her teeth fixed and cleaning up her image only to be purposely humiliated by ADOC officials. Powell spent many hours letting other convicts fix her hair and help her look good. Powell was a good looking woman when she was murdered. To dig up skeletons in her closet and humiliate her time on earth is a crime said former officers with ADOC. They did this young lady a injustice that can never be repaid a retired officer said.
Even Chuck "Vader" Ryan was quoted as saying she was the most abused inmate he had ever seen. Vader yanked Powell off life support at the hospital which resulted in her death.
Dick Wassenaar assaults correctional lieutenant

Dick Wassenaar has assaulted yet more staff and attempted more escape attempts since being moved to Ohio. Wassenaar has used family members and PRISON PEN PALS to attempt new escapes. Wassenaar a habitual liar and mental case recently through human feces on a supervisor.
Dick Wassenaar and Egghead Coy were given beer and pizza to end the longest prison siege in American history. Two correctional staff were raped and numerous officers were beaten and tortured by Coy and Wassenaar before their lunatic rampage ended. Wassenaar had been accused of raping the 5 year old daughter of his estranged girlfriend. Wassenaar was later convicted of robbing a porn store he frequented in Tucson and tried to kill a Tucson police officer. Middleground prison reform Donna Hamm held candle light vigils for Wassenaar and Coy at Lewis prison during the hostage crises, praying for their safety. Donna a former Judge married a death row inmates James Hamm. Hamm later called the police and claimed to be a victim of domestic violence at the hands of convicted murderer and former death row inmate James Hamm. Donna told Flagstaff police she didn't know if James had weapons or not.
AZCPOA former president Joe "Capt Redbook" Massela told reporters during the standoff at the watch tower that Arizona Correctional Officers were not qualified to flip burgers at local Sonic hamburger joints. Massela resigned after money was missing from AZCPOA and officers demanded more accountability of the union dues. Louis Fraley the lesbian female officer held hostage and raped in the tower by both Coy and Wassenaar responded to the tower siege with an unloaded gun. Officer Jason Auch had opened the door to the tower thinking Wassenaar was an officer after Wassenaar stole a uniform and changed his appearance trying to escapee.

A request for proposals that the Arizona Department of Corrections plans to issue to recruit a contractor, or contractors, to house 5,000 inmates.
The RFP process faced a setback Thursday because the Joint Legislative Budget Committee canceled a meeting that included an agenda item for reviewing for RFP. The committee canceled the meeting because the state Legislature met in special session, and has not rescheduled the meeting.
The Criminal Justice Budget Reconciliation Bill authorizes the Department of Corrections to issue an RFP for 5,000 new private prison beds, according to the website for the budget committee. The RFP will allow awarding one or more contracts; permit the private sector to bid on all or a portion of the beds; allow the beds to be located at new, existing or expanded facilities; and specify a maximum contract period of 20 years.
The Department of Corrections has a deadline of June 30, 2010, for awarding all contracts.
The RFP does not indicate whether the prisons will house minimum-medium or maximum-security inmates, according to a staffer for the committee.
Support for the private prison could come from other communities in the state, Marks acknowledged. He added other prison companies besides CCA could be vying for contracts as well.
CCA states on its website that it was founded more than 25 years ago, and houses approximately 75,000 offenders and detainees in more than 60 sites. It has partnerships with the Federal Bureau of Prisons, the U.S. Marshals Service, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, nearly half of the states and more than a dozen municipalities.

The Arizona Department of Corrections is on constant vigilance for security breach's at their prison complex's. Convict Danny Horning walked out the front door of a maximum security unit by dyeing his cloths with ink. Convict Dick Wassannar took over a tower after stealing an officers uniform.
Police unions blocked attemps by TSA agents to get more professional uniforms, in an effort by TSA to get more respect at the nations front line on terrorism. Police unions have weakend the nations front line on TERRORISM.
After leaving ADOC I went to work for the sheriff's department working courthouse security in one of the largest courthouses in the state. They had already had one hostage situation at the courthouse and had spent millions on new security equipment and training.
EVERYDAY police dectives, DA's, FBI agents, DEA agents would set of the scanners with their weapons instead of checking in with security first. EVERYDAY these same law enforcement officers and agents would yell at the courthouse security claiming they didn't have to check their weapons. We went through hundreds of officers that quit because of the day to day BS at the courthouse. I was one of the only officers that qualified with a weapon and after 9 months of day to day BS at the courthouse I to quit and found a better job.

Six Arizona State Prison Units sold to SLUM LORDS

Six state prison units at Florence/Eyman have been sold to Slum Lords and leased back to the state. The state pocketed $736 million dollars and will be repaying investors 1.1 billion dollars over the next 20 years for the deal. Death Row was not sold. The state hospital was also sold to investors. Privatization of ADOC is rapidly becoming a reality.
ASPC-Florence is seriously outdated and unsafe for officer's and offenders. The plumbing chases at CB-1, 3, 2 & 4 are caked with dozens of decades of animal urine & feces, which vent directly into offenders cells. Electrical and plumbing problems including filthy staff bathrooms and unsafe drinking water which exceed federal guidelines for Niacin are just a few of the problems passed on to investors. Some staff bathrooms are so filthy with years of human feces and urine officers are forced to squat on filthy toilet rims to use them. Swamp coolers are still in use at most of the large Florence cell blocks wasting hundreds of thousands of dollars a year.
The DOJ has looked the other way for decades as offenders are forced to live in tiny cells from the 1940's and 50's standards. Officer's still are required to conduct safety and security checks on dozens of isolation cells in CB-3 & 4 that have not been used or housed offenders since the 1970's wasting more money by the state. Officers are currently making $18 an hour out of the academy. Some staff security doors have been inoperable for over 25 years as settling buildings have crushed them permanently closed.
Some of the prison yards at Florence prison were one day staffed with over 60 officers and supervisors are now being run with one supervisor and less than 15 officers. Some of the officer control rooms offer nothing more than plexiglas separating officers from offenders. Hundreds of the cells were never fitted with food traps and officers are forced to open cell doors to feed offenders on lock down status. The skylights and windows in some cell blocks are so filthy and caked with decades of cigarette smoke and bird feces and urine they appear to be painted dark brown.
Pigeons live in CB-2 and pigeon feces and urine is in all areas of the building and vents. Skunks have been living under CB-4 as well as chipmunks, lizards, bats frogs, owls, coyotes, pigeons, crows, and field mice which interact with the offender population daily. Outdated prisons caked with decades of filth and grime are now the property of proud investors poised to make millions of dollars with no regards to staff and state correctional officers health and safety.

What does the other two unions AFSCME & Correctional FOP get paid for?
AZCOPS fast scam artist Chuck Foy is only interested in money earned from AZCPOA ( Arizona Correctional Peace Officer Association ). Despite popular belief among the two worse unions in Arizona correctional officers history the 10,000 state of Arizona correctional officers are very concerned for their safety especially in the the event of a fire. Cell Block One should have been condemned 60 years ago. The former reception center at the Arizona State Prison Complex Florence is one of the most unsafe prison units in the world. Officers have been paid hundreds of millions of dollars doing fire watch and security checks on isolation cells five stories high in two cell blocks and the cells have not been used in over 50 years.
The Scott Air Pak's assigned to each cluster at Arizona's 2 Super Max prisons are off limits to staff because they are not trained to use them. A T-Shirt set on fire in super max can create enough smoke to fill an entire cluster within 3 minutes.
The correctional officers do not recognize AZCPOA or the Correctional Association as their spokesperson. Brenda Hewitt and Michael Duran are terrified of the administrations wrath it can impose on staff. Charles Ryan is the lease qualified person on the planet to run any government agency. Over 40,000 staff have quit the Arizona Department of Corrections since 1985 when the department promised better working conditions by opening the COTA Academy.
After officer Brent Lumley was murdered at Perryville Prison due to staff shortages and no security for staff, security cameras were installed at Perryville Prison. Starting in 1999 the cameras were then turned on staff for discilinary reasons only. The officers then started pointing the cameras at the sky to avoid being harrased by supervisors. Wardens allowed the supervisors to take the "security" tapes home and spend hundreds of hours off duty trying to figure out ways to punish staff with the tapes. The same cameras were in place when offender Marcia Powell died a violent death in an outside holding pen because no one monitors the security cameras and they are now used for the sole purpose of harassing staff and officers at the units.
The Arizona Department of Corrections is a filthy dirty fire trap with no concern for staff safety. The DOJ and state Fire Marshals let the system deteriorate so bad it's worse than a 3rd world countries prison system. Dead animals and bird feathers, feces and urine are caked in the plumbing chases in CB-1, 3, 4 and 2 as much as 12 inches high. These units should have been closed 60 years ago. The four corrections officer unions are a joke.
Officers are demanding AFSCME return the hundreds of millions of dollars wasted by DOC officers on dues hoping for a better deal from supervisors. Officers also claim AZCOPS is letting supervisors from ADOC run the AZCPOA providing more unfair and retaliation by DOC supervisors. Officers of the Arizona Department of Corrections claim the Correctional FOP is their union of choice and the bias media in Arizona never once have asked their opinion. This entire prison sell & lease back and efforts for privatization is a scam and just one of the hundreds officers have survived at ADOC.

I once asked the main union rep at Santa Cruz some questions regarding AZCOPS, stuff like where the money go's, why there is not a more aggressive push for better pay, and some other questions. After I kept pushing for more complete answers, he became a bit irate. I said sorry, but I just wanted to know my union better. He said that "it was his union, and that I was only part of his union, and that he didn't have to answer any more then what he wanted to." So I quit the union, he tried to get me back by saying that his side is the winning team, but I said no. Later on when they were doing their recruiting thing, he and one of his reps tried to pull me over to their booth, I didn't go and told them I wasn't interested. As I was leaving one of them said that I was going to be one of the first to go. I asked them what they meant by that, and they just said you'll find out, what jack asses.

The state of Arizona is thinking about laying off over 500 law enforcement officers, mostly from the police departments. The unions do nothing but use each incident and even officer funerals as membership drives. Thousands of offenders are in prison for parole and probation violation. One offender sits in prison for parole violation because he got into a fist fight with his roommate over a pair of dice. This is a waste of millions of dollars of tax payer money. The offenders have better medical, dental and burial plans than most Arizona citizens. Prostitutes doing less than 2 years are locked up on death row where officers are paid hazard pay and make more money than the average correctional officer. This is another total waste of tax payer money.
For the last 25 to 30 years, everyday correctional officers in Arizona have been doing safety and security checks on units that have not housed offenders ( inmates ) in 40 years. Towers at the two Arizona super max prisons costing millions of dollars have never been staffed and sit empty day after day. Most of the large prisons in Arizona are in rural areas of the state and daily ambulance rides to hospitals cost tax payers hundreds of millions of dollars a year. Tempest Ambulance service in Florence stole $800,000.00 in phony claims and did not have to repay one cent in an agreement to let Southwest Ambulance have the state contract.
Small town police departments near prisons in Arizona routinely ask that petty criminals be given "hard time" by ADOC while rapist and murders are reclassified to serve time in "Honor Dorms" where they have keys to their own rooms in prisons. All the offenders at Perryville Prison have keys to their own cells except death row.
The Arizona Department of Corrections depends on "drug therapy" by prison psychiatrist to help control the prison population. Nearly all offenders are taking some kind of prescription medication costing tax payers hundreds of millions of dollars a year. Prisons such as East Unit in Florence AZ were once run with 70 or more officers a day with an inmate population of 600 or more. East Unit today 2010 is run with less than 15 officers per shift. The state knows they can gamble with officer's lives and get away with it. Each officer at ADOC is asked to do the job of 7 officers and it's been run this way for the last 30 years. Some officers the first 3 hours of their shift in the summer in AZ are completely drenched in sweat and their uniform soaked in sweat. The Arizona Correctional Officers go way beyond the call of duty to secure the prisons daily. The officers are treated worse than the inmates by supervisors that have no people skills and at a cost of millions of dollars a year to AZ tax payers to replace correctional officers. If you ever wonder why the officers say "it's not worth it" and quit, that's why. Some of the posts are so screwed up and understaffed its the equivalent of playing one NFL game every day until your so physically and mentally drained you cannot return to work at the prison ever again. Each day for the last 30 years 2 AZ correctional officers go home and never return to work ever again at the prisons.
For the past 30 years prison administrators and supervisors have been locking the officers in the prisons at shift change forcing some officers to work 16 to 24 hour shifts. One officer called 911 trying to get the sheriffs department to let them out after an 18 hour shift, the officer was disciplined. Today 2010 yards run with 14 officers on a shift are being run with ONE officer on the entire yard because the state has cut out all overtime.
The officers union being paid $90K a month first statement to the press for the new year 2010. "The officer's don't mind all the fire safety equipment not working at any of the AZ prisons." AZCOPS nicknamed AZSLOBS by the officers is the biggest joke on the planet as far as unions are concerned. The officers paid AFSCME 50 million dollars and got absolutely nothing in return. Chuck Ryan "Vader" has divided the officers into 4 unions today and each one is as worthless as the next.
The officers need your help, don't put another idiot in the governors office. Vote for Terry Goddard for governor.

Screws at ASPC-Lewis help transfer illegal's to the feds. 51 convicts transferred to ICE to be transported back across the Rio Grande River. The transfer will save taxpayers about $3,300.02 a day. There are nearly 6,300 criminal aliens in Arizona's prison system. Chuck Ryan "Vader" was given the order by acting governor Jan Brewer. COTA estimates 46 of the 51 convicts will reenter the USA within a year and commit more crimes costing Arizona tax payers over 1.5 million dollars in court costs.

Lt. Eric Shuhandler stopped Irizarry and Redondo in a truck in the parking lot of the Fry's and Taco Bell at Val Vista and Baseline Road, which is near the Mesa-Gilbert border and was shot dead. 500 police officers face lay-offs and thousands of inmates are being classified for early release. Some states refuse to extradite violent criminals from other states due to budget cuts.

Police officer lay-offs are one picture of crime out of control in AZ. Hundreds of thousands of security officers have lost their jobs because of new idiotic license laws by the state of AZ and cut backs by businesses trying to save money. There is currently a 4 to 5 hr waiting period for non emergency police response in Phoenix Arizona. Sometimes Police don't show up at all.

Saturday 1/30/10 over 100 convicts at the Lewis prison in Buckeye Arizona began to fight while being escorted back to their cell blocks from the chow hall. 16 convicts were injured one was airlifted to the hospital in serious condition. This is the second riot at Lewis prison in the past two months. The prison is overcrowded and seriously understaffed. The Arizona Department of Corrections has 4 unions that never do anything except membership drives. AZCOPS blocks the states plans to privatize the prisons to ease the overcrowding of all the states prisons. AZCOPS is a union built on pure greed and has a long history of speaking up against the officers instead of for them. AZCOPS was instrumental in a spinoff of the Lumley Vampire Newsletter in which officers routinely harrased staff at will. The widow of fallen officer Brent W Lumley complained to the department and officers she did not want her husbands name associated with a vampire. The spinoff of this rag was traced down to a former Buckeye Arizona reserve police officer & correctional officer at Perryville prison that failed his polygraph and was forced to resign from ADOC. An obese Mexican American female from Texas was also instrumental in the spinoff posing as a male editor Ed of the site.
ASPC-Lewis has been plagued with serious security problems including the take over of two of its towers one of which was the longest prison siege in US history. The second tower breached by convicts helped them escape the prison in a trash truck and were both captured at a nearby landfill.
Officers reported over 80 serious security flaws in the state of the art prison. To this day officers claim the prison cannot be secured.
Hundreds of officers were involved in the recent riot at Lewis Prison and yet there is not one word of the incident on any of the 4 union websites. AZCOPS claims to be the spokesperson for the officers but remains silent.
Lieutenant assaults state correctional officer at SUPER MAX

Officers of the Arizona Department of Corrections are routinely assaulted and threatened by supervisors of the prisons. An officer at Super Max was recently assaulted by a correctional Lt at super max. A few months ago an officer at super max was put in a choke hold by a Lt and had to be airevact to a hospital. The supervisor a former Marine that had served time in Iraq resigned in lieu of being fired. The correctional service officer suffered permanent disability as a result of the attack. Other officers that witnessed the attack said the officer pleaded with the Marine supervisor to leave him alone. The recent attack might lead to criminal charges being filed against the Lt. Previous attacks on staff by staff at the super max prison were ignored by local law enforcement and city attorneys. Another officers filed criminal charges against an officer that tried to run him over in the employee parking lot after shift. The officers that complained was forced to resign and the officer with charges was promoted to Sgt.
One of the biggest losers the state had hired was Major Rios of ASPC-Eyman. Rios assaulted over 50 officers while Sam Lewis, Terry Stewart and Chuck Ryan looked the other way. Rios routinely visited the COTA academy and assaulted cadets. Rios promoted to an administrative position at ASPC-Florence Picacho Unit kidnapped and brutalized his wife for a 3 month period and was convicted and sent to prison for over 35 years.
A CCA officer was fired by the private prison in Florence in July of 2009 after a convict started a fight with him. The warden of CCA told the officer he was not allowed to fight with the convict but should have used his training applying pressure to pressure points. The officers told the warden that's kinda hard to do when a convict is beating you to death. Another officer at CCA Florence got his jaw dislocated by Capt Lopez during a training class. I guess the Capt forgot about the pressure points. The Capt was not disciplined and the officer refused to file a complaint in fear for his job.

200 state co's were laid off juvenile corrections another 500 will be clayed off soon as three more juvenile facilities close. Also an additional 1,500 to 2,500 state corrections officers could loose their jobs to private prisons at ASPC-Douglas, Safford, Ft Grant and Apache unit's. The state has been funneling juvenile offenders into the adult system for 20 years, as soon as they turn 18 juvenile offenders are sent to CB-8 (Super Max). One of the largest gangs in the juvenile facilities is the 4th Reich. Offenders with 4th Reich tattoos can be found in nearly every prison in AZ including CCA Florence. Juveniles are being sent to group homes and half-way houses with little or no supervision. 500 police officers in AZ are also facing layoffs. 200,000 security officers have already been laid off by businesses struggling to stay open and insane new security guard license guidelines.
A single prison troll working as a CMA correctional medical assistant in N.M help fund a paroled convict to stay on the run from authorities. The convict molested 57 kids in a five state area before being captured. The CMA sent money and love letters to the convict while he eluded police for nearly a year. He was convicted and sent back to prison in Santa Fe N.M

An Arizona Department of Corrections officer was assaulted at ASPC-Yuma Cheyenne unit Wednesday night on graveyard shift. Officers of ADOC have complained for over 35 years convicts refuse to get up for work at all the state prisons and officers have to wake them up 2 or 3 times before they finally get up. It's just another example of convicts showing absolutely zero effort to reform and comply with prison policy and procedure. The officers 4 unions have done nothing to help the officers. State Correctional Officers pay AZCOPS $90,000.00 a month.
Yuma is home to the historic territorial prison which has been closed due to budget cuts. The nations last stagecoach robbery took place in AZ and a female involved in the robbery was sent to Yuma Prison. The female convict got pregnant in prison by either the governor or chaplin of the territorial prison. Ghost hunters have been using the prison that became a state park for ghost tours.

Hacks, Screws & Turnkeys at the Arizona state prisons have paid 4 unions over $100 million dollars and have nothing to show for it. The screws have union dues automatically taken out of their pay checks. One former officer says check the union websites, there is no one giving us any information. Former head roach at the state bird house ASPC-Perryville warden Hennessey murdered one of the K-9 officers after it was retired. Dozens of officers asked to adopt the K-9 and "Medusa Mary" Hennessey refused their requests and killed the dog. Officers have a list a hundred miles long of complaints and the last word from 2 of the 4 unions was "officers don't mind burning to death or being killed by faulty fire equipment at all the state prisons." Supervisors at the state super max prisons have started trying to kill the officers as a method of supervision.
